Telling your story and sharing it to everyone is the bravest thing that one can do. Much more if your life is considered a taboo in a community like transsexuals. But a brave woman, a transgender herself, shares her humble life story through her book Redefining Realness by Janet Mock. Janet’s book will surely be an eye opener to all of us, transgender or non transgender people, and her book will surely serve as an inspiration. A young vibrant woman that has so much to give to the trans community through her book. But what will be the impact of this modern woman’s book to the community? Here are my thoughts.

As a transgender woman I believe it gives us hope to to become who we really are. Not feeling afraid to reach for our dreams and be happy.  Giving us hope that we are not alone experiencing the struggle and challenges to live the way we wanted to be. To live as a transsexual woman, to gain that respect and be accepted as a woman. And that hope will be a collective voice showing to the community that we transgender women exist and deserve a place in this world. Her book’s release is a great timing as the whole world slowing facing and entertaining the needs of every transsexual woman.

A prefect time to give more information to the public about who we really are and what we need. This book gives so much opportunity to everyone. The opportunity to reach out oppressed transgender women and their family to understand better what we are going through. An opportunity for the community to have a slight glimpse of how difficult it is to be a transgender woman and to change people’s mind towards how they see transsexual women. It gives an opportunity to tell the wold that this is the time to begin redefining what is reality. The reality that transgender women are women and are part of the society worthy to be accepted and deserve to be respected.

Mytranssexualdate.com believes in the opportunity of this book because this is a classic autobiography of a transsexual woman. Part of it is sharing her love and relationship. Dating transgender women is still considered as a taboo now days. But through her book we can see that being in a relationship with a transgender woman is not different from other relationships nor it is not just a fantasy. And My Transsexual Date is confident that with this book, it will give a brand new meaning towards dating transgender women that it is not a fetish nor a sexual fantasy, it is a real relationship between two people. Having said that, this book will surely be a way that would lead us to redefining realness.
